The CAN U20 finals are being held in Ghana
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced today, Tuesday, that it has assigned the organization of the 2027 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations for under-20 competitions to Ghana.
CAF explained, in a statement on its website, that organizing this tournament coincides with Ghanaโs celebration of the 70th anniversary of its independence, which would highlight the richness of the football heritage of this country located in West Africa.
He pointed out that it is the second time that Ghana has the honor of hosting these competitions after the 1999 tournament, which won the title.
โCan U20โ knew the participation of 12 teams, bringing together the most prominent young football talents on the continent, in an event that has become a prominent event in world football.
The Confederation of African Football explained that the four teams qualifying for the semi-finals of the tournament will automatically qualify for the Under-20 World Cup.
The previous tournament was organized in Egypt and was won by South Africa.
The Confederation of African Football stated that it will announce at a later time the dates for organizing the โGhana 2027โ tournament and the cities and stadiums that will host its competitions.
