"U17 Cubs" face the youth of Egypt.
The main referees' committee of the African Football Confederation (CAF) revealed the officiating team for the match between Egypt and Morocco in the third-place playoff of the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, held in the capital, Rabat.
The Egyptian Football Association stated in a statement via its official social media accounts that the match will be officiated by Nigerian referee Abdulsalam Ebiola, with South African Pali Kledwin as the first assistant and Shaji Badayashi from Seychelles as the second assistant, while Burundian Rodrigue Bigirimana will serve as the fourth official, and Chadian Daoud Ali will be the reserve assistant referee.
The same source added that the Nigerian referee previously officiated the match between the two teams in the third round of the group stage, which ended with the "Atlas Cubs" winning 2-1.
The teams of Egypt and Morocco will meet tomorrow evening, Monday, on the pitch of the Mohammed VI Football Academy.
The two teams are competing for the bronze medal after Morocco lost to Senegal 7-6 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw, while the Egyptian team lost to Tanzania in the same scenario 4-3 on penalties after the match ended in a goalless draw.
Both the Egyptian and Moroccan teams have secured qualification for the U-17 World Cup, scheduled for later this year in Qatar, alongside teams from Cameroon, Mali, Senegal, Tanzania, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Mozambique, and Uganda.
