Morocco vs Senegal in the "U17 AFCON"
The Senegalese U17 national team reached the semifinals of the Africa U17 Cup of Nations "Morocco 2026," after defeating their Malian counterparts in a penalty shootout (4-2), following a 1-1 draw at the end of regular time, in a strong match between the two teams in the quarterfinals.
The Senegalese team started the match well and succeeded in opening the scoring early through Sulayman Faye in the 19th minute, putting the "Tigers of Teranga" ahead during the first half.
Senegal's task became more complicated in the 37th minute after the expulsion of player Sheikh Tior, leaving them to complete the match with ten players under increasing pressure from the Malian team, which continued to search for an equalizer until the final moments.
In stoppage time, the Malian team managed to equalize through Djiki Kouata in the 90+1 minute, forcing the match to go to penalties, which smiled upon the Senegalese team with a score of 4-2, granting them a ticket to the semifinals.
The Senegalese team will face the Moroccan team in the "U17 AFCON" semifinals, after the "Atlas Cubs" secured their qualification by defeating Cameroon 1-0 in the quarterfinal match held at the Mohammed VI Football Complex.
