Tunisia loses to Egypt in the "U17 AFCON".
The Egyptian U-17 team secured a crucial victory in the second round of the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2026" with a score of two to one against their Tunisian counterparts, in the match that took place as part of the first group competitions.
The Tunisian team was the first to score in the 11th minute through Mohamed Tabti from the penalty spot, before the Egyptian team managed to equalize in the 43rd minute with a penalty goal by Mohamed Gamal.
As the match was heading towards a draw, Amir Abdo snatched the winning goal for the Egyptian team in the 89th minute, giving the "Pharaohs" three valuable points that raised their total to four points at the top of the first group.
In the first match of the same group, the Moroccan team had drawn with the Tunisian team one goal each, while the match between Egypt and Ethiopia ended without goals.
Following the results of the second round, the Egyptian team leads the first group standings with four points, ahead of the Moroccan team in second place by one point from one match, while Ethiopia occupies third place with one point, surpassing Tunisia in fourth place on goal difference.
The Moroccan team is expected to face the Ethiopian team in their second match in the group stage, this evening, Saturday, starting at 8 PM local time.
