Morocco's file at "TAS" is within the deadlines.
A knowledgeable source confirmed to "Hesport" that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has submitted its defenses to the relevant committees of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) within the specified legal deadlines, regarding the appeal filed by the Senegalese Football Federation against the decision of the African Confederation to award the 2025 Africa Cup title to Morocco.
The same source clarified that the Moroccan file was submitted in accordance with the procedures in place at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, both in terms of processes and legal deadlines, awaiting referral to the competent authority to review and decide on the various defenses presented by both parties.
The source emphasized to "Hesport" that the information circulated in recent hours regarding the forfeiture of rights by Morocco and the African Confederation due to exceeding the legal deadline is "not true," highlighting that yesterday, Sunday, coincided with a holiday and is not considered within the specified deadlines in CAS law.
The informed source added that the procedural rules of the Court of Arbitration for Sport stipulate that the deadline is automatically extended to the first working day following the holiday, which means that the submission of the Moroccan defenses today, Monday, falls within the applicable legal deadlines.
It is worth noting that the Appeals Committee of "CAF" ruled to consider the Senegalese team as having lost by withdrawal and awarded the victory to Morocco with a score of 3-0, following the departure of Senegalese players from the field during the final match.
