FC Nantes: Kantari thanked, Halilhodzic expected to return
In the hot seat for several matches, Ahmed Kantari will not have survived the defeat of FC Nantes against Angers (0-1), Saturday on the occasion of the 25th day of Ligue 1. The Moroccan technician should be replaced by one of his former coaches.
The seasons follow one another and are similar at FC Nantes. Once again, the Canaries will experience a season with at least two coaching changes. Appointed last December, in place of Luis Castro, Ahmed Kantari only lasted three months on the Nantes sidelines. The former Atlas Lion was dismissed from his duties this Tuesday morning.
And while the name of Pierre Aristouy recurred insistently in recent days, the Kita family finally decided to rely on previous knowledge of the French championship.
Former great striker of the club in the 1980s and already coach during the 2018/2019 season, former Atlas Lions coach Vahid Halilhodzic is preparing to return to service at the age of 73, almost four years after his departure from the Morocco selection in August 2022.
