The Deputy Director of the FBI praises Morocco.
As part of the high-level security support for the 2026 World Cup events, the Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Christopher Wray, conducted an inspection visit to the International Security Cooperation Center (IPCC) on Wednesday, July 1st, which includes representatives from law enforcement agencies and security services of the countries participating in this global sporting event.
The Deputy Director of the FBI held a special meeting with representatives from the General Directorate of National Security and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGSN-DGST), where he expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Morocco for its significant contribution to securing this global sporting event and its tangible and effective contribution to ensuring all stages of the tournament, affirming that the FBI considers the Kingdom of Morocco a reliable partner with globally recognized expertise and credibility.
Christopher Wray also delivered a speech in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to representatives of foreign security agencies for their effective contributions to the security system of the World Cup being hosted by the United States, recalling the utmost importance of international partnership and multilateral cooperation in the field of intelligence information exchange.
In this context, the Deputy Director of the FBI highlighted the scale of the organizational and security challenge represented by securing 78 major matches over nearly two weeks, emphasizing that achieving effective and inclusive security remains impossible without close international cooperation.
Wray also noted the significant increase in the number of threats that U.S. authorities have successfully thwarted on their territory, thanks to accurate intelligence information and ongoing support from partner countries.
