The Moroccan women's national taekwondo team won the gold medal at the World Cup for teams for the first time in its history, following a thrilling victory over their Russian counterparts in the final match held in Chuncheon, South Korea.

The Moroccan champions Mariam, Fatima Zahra Al-Nams, Nada L'arej, and Amina Al-Dahawi delivered an outstanding performance on the second day of the competition, raising the flag of the kingdom high at this global event.

The Moroccan team paved its way to glory with great distinction, under the leadership of the technical staff headed by Korean coach Lee Dong-wan, with the assistance of Mustafa Al-Amrani and Hamza Al-Kharab.

The team began its journey by defeating Kazakhstan in the quarter-finals, before overcoming Thailand in the semi-finals, setting up a final match against Russia, which took the silver after a strong campaign that eliminated the Koreans and Iranians.

The "Korean World Cup" featured the participation of eight teams, including Morocco, Russia, Iran, Thailand, China, India, alongside Kazakhstan and the host country, South Korea.

The bronze medal for third place went to the Iranian team, after they triumphed over Thailand in the placement match, allowing Morocco to conclude its historic participation with an unprecedented achievement in national taekwondo.
