World Cup 2026 .. America reaches the Round of 16 at the expense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The United States national team continued its journey in the 2026 World Cup, having qualified for the Round of 16 after a deserved victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina with a score of two goals to none, today Thursday, according to Coordinated Universal Time, in the Round of 32 of the tournament.

Folarin Balogun opened the scoring for the American team in the 45th minute, before receiving a red card in the 63rd minute, leaving the hosts to finish the match with ten players.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, the American team managed to extend its lead through Malik Tillman, who scored the second goal in the 82nd minute, securing a spot in the Round of 16, where they will face Belgium in Seattle on July 6.

This is the first victory for the United States in a knockout match in the World Cup in 24 years, as their last win in the knockout stages was on June 17, 2002, when they defeated Mexico two goals to none in the Round of 16 during the edition co-hosted by South Korea and Japan.
