Daniel Munoz continued his hobby of shaking the net for the second consecutive match in the 2026 World Cup, leading the Colombian national team to qualify for the Round of 32 of the tournament currently taking place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The Colombian team achieved a hard-fought victory over the Democratic Republic of the Congo with a score of one goal to none, on Wednesday according to Coordinated Universal Time, in the second round of the group stage of Group 11.
Munoz played the starring role in the match, scoring Colombia's only goal in the 76th minute, giving his team a valuable victory, despite missing several clear chances that were available to his teammates throughout the match.
Munoz had also found the net in the opening round, during Colombia's victory over Uzbekistan with a score of three goals to one.
The Colombian team raised its points total to six at the top of the group, two points ahead of the second-placed Portuguese team, while the Democratic Republic of the Congo remained at one point in third place.
Colombia will face Portugal in the final round of the group stage, while the Democratic Republic of the Congo will meet Uzbekistan, who is at the bottom of the standings with no points.
The chances for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uzbekistan to reach the next round are still alive, through the gateway of the best eight teams that finish in third place in the twelve groups.
