The Raja Club Athletic defeated their counterpart Chabab Al-Masira with two goals to none, in the match that took place this evening, Saturday, at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, as part of the Round of 16 of the Throne Cup.
Raja Club Athletic successfully imposed their style from the start of the match, as their players controlled the flow of the game and dictated the pace, while Chabab Al-Masira relied on an organized defensive spread that closed spaces and reduced the effectiveness of the attacking attempts from the Casablanca team.
As the first half progressed, Raja intensified their offensive pressure through a series of repeated attempts in search of the opening goal, before Ismail Khafi managed to break through Chabab Al-Masira's defense, scoring the first goal during stoppage time of the first half, giving his team a well-deserved advantage before heading to the locker rooms.
During the second half, Chabab Al-Masira attempted to come back and increased the tempo of their attacks, coming close to equalizing in the sixty-second minute, but the brilliance of goalkeeper Khalid Al-Alawi prevented the net from shaking.
Raja Club Athletic was able to extend their lead in the sixty-ninth minute through defender Mehdi Mshakhkhakh, who took advantage of a defensive lapse inside the penalty area to score the second goal, leading his team to secure the victory.
With this victory, Raja Club Athletic secured their qualification to the Round of 16 of the Throne Cup, where they will face Hassania Agadir, who also secured their passage after defeating Moustakbel Al-Marsa.
