The Moroccan women's national team secured their spot in the semi-finals of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations "Morocco 2026" after defeating their South African counterparts with a score of two goals to one, in a match that took place this Saturday evening at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, as part of the quarter-finals.

The national team was the first to score through player Soukaina Ouzraoui in the 31st minute of the first half, after she capitalized on an excellent assist from her teammate Hanane Ait Haj, converting it into a goal to give the national squad the lead.

The "Atlas Lionesses" finished the first half leading by one goal to nil, while imposing their style of play and controlling the proceedings of the first half against a strong opponent.

With the start of the second half, the national team continued to apply pressure, managing to extend their lead with a second goal scored by player Hanane Ait Haj from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute, before the South African team succeeded in narrowing the gap and scoring their only goal in the 67th minute through player Thembi Kgatlana.

It is worth noting that the Moroccan team will face the winner of the match between Cameroon and Nigeria in the semi-finals of the continental competition, with their eyes set on continuing their journey towards competing for the continental title.
