"Rennes" is holding on to the Moroccan Ait Boudlal.

Frank Haise, the coach of French football club Rennes, has put an end to the speculation surrounding the future of young Moroccan defender Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal, confirming the club's commitment to the services of the 20-year-old center-back, despite the interest he is receiving during the current summer transfer window.

Haise stated in comments reported by "Foot Mercato": "There is no issue regarding this matter; he has not spoken to me about leaving, and he has two years left on his contract. We are counting on him," referring to the player's continued involvement in the team's project for the upcoming season.

The Rennes coach's remarks came just hours after "Foot Mercato" revealed, citing "The Athletic," that English club Fulham had made an offer of around £20 million (approximately €23 million) to sign Ait Boudlal, but the French club's management deemed the offer insufficient and rejected it outright.

The same source added that Fulham's interest in acquiring the Moroccan defender remains, with the London team considering the possibility of making a new offer, while the player's name is also linked to interest from Liverpool; meanwhile, the Breton team is keen to retain one of its most promising talents, who is under contract until the summer of 2028.

The graduate of the Mohammed VI Football Academy participated in 21 matches for Rennes last season. He is also among the candidates for the "Golden Boy" award for 2026, an annual prize awarded by the Italian newspaper "Tuttosport" to the best player under 21 playing in one of the European leagues.
