Officially.. Real Madrid renews Vinicius' contract.
Real Madrid announced today, Thursday, the extension of its Brazilian star Vinícius Júnior's contract until June 30, 2032, allowing him to continue his journey with the royal team for six more seasons.
The club clarified in an official statement that both parties reached an agreement to extend the player's contract, who joined Real Madrid in July 2018 from Brazilian Flamengo when he was 18 years old.
During his eight seasons wearing the Real Madrid jersey, Vinícius has played 375 matches, scoring 128 goals, and contributed to the team's 14 titles, which include two UEFA Champions League titles, three FIFA Club World Cup titles, two UEFA Super Cups, three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey title, and three Spanish Super Cups.
Real Madrid confirmed that Vinícius played a crucial role in most of these achievements, thanks to his goals and assists, notably scoring in the two UEFA Champions League finals that the team won in Paris in 2022 and London in 2024.
On an individual level, the Brazilian international was awarded the "The Best" award for the best player in the world for 2024, as well as the Golden Ball for the 2024 Intercontinental Cup, the best player award in the UEFA Champions League for the 2023-2024 season, the Golden Ball for the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup, in addition to the best young player award in the Champions League for the 2021-2022 season.
He was also selected for the FIFA 2024 World XI, made the "FIFA FIFPro World11" team twice in 2023 and 2024, and appeared three times in the UEFA Champions League's ideal lineup during the 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024 seasons.
Real Madrid concluded its statement by affirming that Vinícius Júnior has become one of the team's standout stars and a key pillar in one of the most successful periods in the club's history.
