Blatter calls for a woman to lead "FIFA".

Joseph Blatter, the former president of the International Football Federation (FIFA), stated that a woman should lead FIFA, suggesting that it should be Liz Clavines.

Blatter wrote on the "X" platform today, Tuesday: "Liz Clavines deserves the utmost respect; she has always taken a clear stance and has not gone with the mainstream. At FIFA, the time is right for a woman to take the lead."

Clavines is a former football player and currently holds the position of president of the Norwegian Football Federation.

Last year, Clavines made headlines for her outspoken support for excluding Israel from international football events due to the conflict with Hamas in Gaza.

Blatter's remarks come amid a wave of criticism directed at current FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who revealed plans last week for a multi-billion dollar sale of World Cup rights to private investors. After significant protests, including UEFA threatening to boycott the World Cup, the FIFA president withdrew the proposal.
