Ajax Amsterdam loans Ter Stegen.

German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has moved to Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam on loan for just one season.

The Dutch capital team said in a statement on its official website: "Ajax has reached an agreement with FC Barcelona and goalkeeper Marc ter Stegen. The 34-year-old goalkeeper will join the club on loan for one season from the Spanish club."

Ter Stegen was born on April 30, 1992, in Mönchengladbach, Germany, and began his professional career with Borussia Mönchengladbach. After three and a half seasons during which he played 127 matches for his hometown club in various competitions, he joined Barcelona in 2014.

Since then, he has played 423 matches in all competitions with Barcelona, winning many titles, including the UEFA Champions League and seven La Liga titles.

The German international player, who has made 44 appearances for the "Mannschaft," spent the second half of last season on loan at Spanish club Girona, under coach Michel Sanchez.

Jordi Cruyff, the sporting director of Ajax, spoke about ter Stegen's transfer, saying: "Marc has an impressive track record, and his qualities are widely recognized. He is an immediate addition to our team."

Cruyff added: "Marc and I know each other well, and I look forward to working with him again. We have been working on bringing him to the team for a long time, so we are very happy to have him sign the contract and start his journey with us now."
