The Moroccan women's national team drew with their Senegalese counterpart 0-0 on Monday evening, in a match held at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in the capital Rabat, as part of the third round of Group A in the Women's Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2026".

The first half saw several attempts from both sides, but the lack of a final touch prevented either team from finding the net, ending the first half in a goalless draw.

In the second half, the national team had the opportunity to take the lead with two consecutive penalty kicks in the 66th and 69th minutes, after the first was retaken due to the Senegalese goalkeeper stepping off her line before the execution, but Yasmin Merabet was unable to convert them into goals.

The "Atlas Lionesses" tried in the remaining minutes of the match to snatch a winning goal, but they were met with a solid Senegalese defense, resulting in the match ending without a winner.

The Moroccan women's national team secured their qualification for the quarter-finals of the continental competition after topping Group A with 7 points, followed by the Algerian team with 6 points, then Senegal with 4 points, and Kenya at the bottom of the standings with no points.
