Chile is monitoring FUSIONIA and Renaissance Berkane.

Fuzinia, the goalkeeper who played a key role in the remarkable journey of the Cape Verde national team during the 2026 World Cup, has postponed his arrival in Chile to sign with Colo-Colo due to "personal circumstances," according to the club's sports director said yesterday, Thursday.

Colo-Colo's president, Aníbal Mosa, announced the signing of the 40-year-old goalkeeper last Friday, before later confirming that the player would arrive in Chile on Thursday.

The delay has sparked speculation in the local press; some reports indicated that Fuzinia is also in talks with Moroccan club RS Berkane.

Jaime Pizarro, the sports director of Colo-Colo, told reporters: "A request was made for an extension to address some personal matters... and we will definitely have news soon regarding his travel date."

Pizarro explained that immigration procedures were also among the reasons for the delay, and that the club agreed to Fuzinia's requests "to allow him to settle his personal affairs."

Fuzinia stood out in the World Cup with heroic saves, notably in the goalless draw against Spain, which later won the title, and in the loss to Argentina, the tournament's runner-up, after extra time 2-3 in the knockout stages.

The goalkeeper, whose full name is Josimar José Evora Dias, will move to Chile from the Portuguese second division club Chaves.

Although he did not sign his first professional contract until he was 26 years old, he has also played in Cyprus, Slovakia, Moldova, and Angola.

His performance in the World Cup earned him widespread global fame; his Instagram followers increased from 50,000 to over 29 million.
