The Senegalese women defeat Kenya with a goal.

The Senegalese women's national team achieved its first victory in the Women's Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2026", after defeating their Kenyan counterpart by a score of one goal to nil, today Thursday, in the second round of the group stage, at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.

The Senegalese team had started its campaign in the tournament with a loss to Algeria, before managing to rectify the situation by securing a valuable win against Kenya.

Player Sinabo Mbengue scored the only goal of the match in the 35th minute, following an impressive individual effort from her teammate N'Diaye Kassit, giving her country’s team three important points in the qualification race.

In the second half, the Kenyan team imposed its control over the course of the match and created many opportunities, but misfortune, after the ball hit the post and the crossbar, along with the remarkable performance of Senegalese goalkeeper Aji N'Diaye, prevented them from equalizing.

With this victory, the Senegalese team kept its hopes alive for reaching the next round, as they will face the Moroccan national team in the third and final round of the group stage in a decisive match, while Kenya, which has officially exited the competition, will meet the Algerian team.
