The players of the Moroccan national football team, who qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, expressed their immense happiness and great pride today, Thursday, in participating in the celebrations commemorating the twenty-seventh anniversary of King Mohammed VI's ascension to the throne.
In this regard, the national team coach, Mohamed Wahbi, expressed the great honor and immense pride felt by the national team members for their participation in the celebrations commemorating the glorious Throne Day, which is a very important and cherished occasion for the entire Moroccan people.
In a statement to the press, on the sidelines of the reception chaired by King Mohammed VI in the city of Mdiq, on the occasion of the Throne Day celebrations, Wahbi also took the opportunity to express his deep gratitude to the king for the continuous efforts he exerts for the development of the kingdom and the advancement of national football, which has allowed Moroccan players to shine and achieve high performance.
For his part, the captain of the Atlas Lions, Achraf Hakimi, confirmed that Throne Day is "a very important day for all of us," adding: "We are proud of His Majesty the King, and proud to be Moroccans."
Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou also expressed his great happiness in participating in the celebrations commemorating the glorious Throne Day, and on this happy occasion, he conveyed his best wishes to His Majesty the King.
In a similar statement, player Noussair Mazraoui indicated that his participation in these celebrations represents, for him, a great honor and a source of immense pride, adding that all national team players express their deep gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty the King on the occasion of the glorious Throne Day.
