"UEFA" boycotts all "FIFA" competitions.

The member associations of the European football governing body (UEFA) agreed today, Thursday, to boycott all competitions organized by the International Football Federation (FIFA).

This stance comes in protest against the plan by Swiss Gianni Infantino, the president of the international governing body for football, to sell shares in the World Cup to private sector investors.

UEFA stated, following an emergency online meeting that included 55 members: "UEFA and its national associations will not participate in FIFA competitions."

This strategic meeting was held to address the offer made by Infantino, which involves granting each of the 211 member associations worldwide in FIFA a sum of 20 million dollars, which must be accepted by mid-September.

A secret proposal from Infantino was revealed the day before yesterday, Tuesday, to separate his commercial operations in a 20 billion dollar project, where private sector investors would own 20 percent, with the main investor being an investment firm in New York founded by Joshua Kushner.

The upcoming Under-20 World Cup will be held in Europe, hosted by Poland starting from September 5.
