Barcelona is playing a friendly match in Tangier.

FC Barcelona is finalizing the arrangements for a friendly match in Morocco, expected to bring the first team together with one of the clubs from the Moroccan professional league on August 15 in the city of Tangier, as part of its preparations for the upcoming football season.

The Catalan club revealed in a statement issued after its board meeting on Wednesday that negotiations have reached their final stages to organize this match, without disclosing the identity of the Moroccan team that will face "Barça," pending the official announcement of the details in the coming days.

The match is expected to be a significant sporting event, given the immense popularity of Barcelona in Morocco, as well as providing Moroccan fans the opportunity to closely follow the team's stars before the official competitions begin.

On the administrative side, Barcelona's management discussed the possibility of holding a single ordinary general assembly for the delegated members, which would also include the points that were scheduled for an extraordinary assembly, aiming to consolidate into one meeting instead of two separate ones.

The club is currently working to expedite the closure of the financial accounts for the 2025-2026 season, alongside preparing the budget for the 2026-2027 season, so that all files can be presented in a unified agenda, with the general assembly likely to be held in September, preferably coinciding with a day when the team has a match.

Barcelona clarified that the financial accounts are still under review and auditing by the external auditor, and the final decision regarding the date and format of the general assembly will be made after this process is completed.

In women's football, the club is considering organizing a friendly match for the Barcelona women's team on August 15 against Manchester City at the English team's stadium, and the board has been informed of the imminent signing of a new player to strengthen the first team, with an announcement to be made once the official procedures are completed.

The board also approved a project to unify the organizational structure of FC Barcelona Athletic with the first team, in a move aimed at enhancing sports, administrative, and financial coordination, and improving the efficiency of managing the various components of the club.

The meeting concluded with a review of the latest developments regarding the "Spotify Camp Nou" stadium works and the timeline for ongoing projects, in preparation for the team's return to its stadium at the start of the next season.
