Marseille coach brings good news about Aké.
French coach Bruno Genesio of Olympique Marseille brought reassuring news regarding Moroccan international Nayef Aguerd, confirming that the "Lions" defender is continuing his rehabilitation phase positively, with the aim of resuming group training in the coming days.
Genesio explained in the press conference held at the "La Commanderie" training center today, Tuesday, that Aguerd is on the right track regarding his rehabilitation program, expressing optimism about his potential return to the squad during the preparatory camp the team will hold in the Netherlands at the beginning of August.
The Marseille coach said: "There is good news regarding Nayef Aguerd; he is progressing well in his physical readiness recovery phase, and I hope he can resume training with the group during the camp in the Netherlands."
He added that this news represents a morale boost for the team's defense, especially after the captain Leonardo Balerdi returned to training normally; he is expected to participate in the friendly match against Nîmes, even if only for a limited time.
Aguerd has been absent from the pitch since the end of last season due to a groin injury, which also kept him out of the recent World Cup competitions with the Moroccan national team.
The full readiness of Aguerd is expected to be an important addition for Olympique Marseille, which relies on the Moroccan defender's experience to strengthen its defensive solidity before the start of the new season both domestically and internationally.
