"The Atlas Lionesses" open the Women's Africa Cup with a four-goal victory against the Kenyans.

The Moroccan women's national team began its journey in the Women's Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2026" with a resounding victory over their Kenyan counterpart, winning four goals to none, in the match held this Sunday evening at the Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat, as part of the first round of group A competitions.

The "Atlas Lionesses" finished the first half leading with a clean three-goal lead, after Soukaina Ouzraoui opened the scoring in the 19th minute, followed by Mariam Atik adding the second goal in the 28th minute, while Ibtissam Jraidi scored the third goal in the 32nd minute.

With the start of the second half, Jraidi returned to score her second personal goal and the fourth for the Moroccan team in the 47th minute, confirming the superiority of the "Atlas Lionesses" until the final whistle.

With this victory, the Moroccan team topped the group A standings with three points, surpassing the Algerian team in second place on goal difference, while the Senegalese and Kenyan teams occupy the third and fourth places respectively without any points.

The Moroccan team will face the Algerian team next Thursday in the second round of the group stage, in a highly anticipated match to enhance their chances of qualifying for the next round.
