The Algerian women's national team wins in Rabat.

The Algerian national team began its journey in the Women's Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-0 victory over the Senegalese team today, Sunday, at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, in the opening match of the continental competition, which is being held in Morocco for the third consecutive edition, and will continue until August 16.

Marin Dufour opened the scoring for the Algerian team in the 42nd minute, and Melissa Petty dashed the Senegalese team's hopes of equalizing by scoring the second goal in the 88th minute.

Thus, the Algerian team earned its first three points in Group A, while the Senegalese team remains without any points.

The tournament features 16 teams, divided into 4 groups, with 4 teams in each group, with the top two teams qualifying for the knockout stages, while the top four teams in the tournament will advance to the World Cup in Brazil next year, and two other teams will participate in the global playoff for World Cup qualification.
