Lecce motivates the Moroccan women's national team.

Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, was keen to visit the women's national team delegation to motivate the players before the start of the 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, which is hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco.

Lekjaa emphasized, during his meeting with the national team members, the importance of delivering performances that reflect the reputation of Moroccan women's football and exerting maximum effort to compete for the continental title, stressing the need to approach all matches with the seriousness required to achieve the set goals.

The president of the federation also highlighted that the tournament will feature the elite of African teams, which requires the "Atlas Lionesses" to embody a spirit of responsibility and ambition, striving to win the title and secure qualification for the Women’s World Cup, scheduled to take place in Brazil in 2027.

The Africa Women’s Cup of Nations kicks off tomorrow in Morocco with two matches, where the Moroccan national team will begin its journey against the Kenyan team, while the Senegalese team will face the Algerian team.

The Atlas Lionesses are competing in the 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in a strong first group that includes the teams of Senegal, Algeria, and Kenya, carrying the ambition of winning the title after reaching the final in the 2022 and 2024 editions.

The current tournament holds significant stakes for the participating teams, as the competition is not limited to winning the continental title but also extends to securing spots for the Women’s World Cup 2027 in Brazil, which will be awarded to the teams that qualify for the semifinals.
