The city of Tangier is preparing to host the finals of the Throne Cup and the national team championship in chess (both male and female) at the Hassouna Center, from July 26 to August 1, 2026.
This prominent national event in the "City of the Strait" is organized by the Royal Moroccan Chess Federation, in collaboration with the Tangier Communication Association, as part of the national celebrations for the glorious Throne Day.
This sporting event will witness strong competition among the elite qualified national clubs, with the Throne Cup rounds taking place from July 26 to 29, featuring associations representing various Moroccan cities such as Agadir, Tetouan, Meknes, and Fez.
The excitement will continue with the finals of the national team championship from July 29 to August 1, with the participation of prominent clubs such as the Chess Lighthouse, Azrou, and the New East.
The Chess Federation confirmed that it will provide all logistical and organizational capabilities to ensure the success of this event and the smooth conduct of the matches under the best conditions, with financial grants and significant incentive prizes for the winning champions, hoping to present a high technical level that reflects the development of this intellectual sport in the kingdom.
