The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed the scheduling of a hearing in the case brought by the Senegalese Football Federation against both the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation regarding the final of the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025".

The court clarified in an official statement that the hearing will be held on October 8, 2026, at its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.

It added that the appeal, which was registered with the court on March 25, 2026, seeks to annul a decision issued by the Confederation of African Football that deemed the Senegalese team to have lost the final of the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 by withdrawal, awarding the victory to the Moroccan team with a score of 3-0. The Senegalese federation also demands to be declared the champion of the edition.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport indicated that the parties in dispute did not reach an agreement on adopting an expedited procedure, so the case will proceed according to the regular timeline stipulated in the court's regulations. The date of the hearing was set after consulting with all parties, who did not request that the session be public, meaning it will be held behind closed doors.

The court confirmed that following the conclusion of the hearing, the arbitration panel will begin its deliberations, noting that it cannot currently determine the date for issuing the final decision, while emphasizing that the ruling will not be issued on the same day the hearing takes place.
