"Paris Saint-Germain" tempts Ferran Torres.
Ferran Torres, the Barcelona forward, is facing critical moments regarding his future at the Catalan club as he has received an enticing offer from France after becoming a national hero by scoring the winning goal for Spain in the World Cup against Argentina.
The Spanish newspaper "Marca" reported that Paris Saint-Germain is targeting the signing of Ferran Torres (26 years old) with an offer that complicates Barcelona's plans.
The same source indicated that Barcelona's management intended to extend Torres' contract, which expires on June 30, 2027, but decided to postpone negotiations with him until a final decision is made regarding the departure of Robert Lewandowski, preferring to pursue the signing of a new striker.
"Marca" clarified that Lewandowski's departure opened the door for Torres, but there is a clause in his contract from his transfer from Manchester City that requires Barcelona to pay 8 million euros if they extend his contract before the summer transfer window closes.
It was mentioned that for this reason, Barcelona officials preferred to suspend the contract extension file for Torres and to resume negotiations in early September to avoid this clause.
The newspaper also stated that despite both parties (the player and Barcelona) wanting to extend the contract, Torres' goal that secured Spain the World Cup, along with his 21 goals in 49 matches with Barcelona last season, has attracted other clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain.
For its part, the Catalan newspaper "Sport" confirmed that the Parisian club has made an attractive offer both financially and sportingly that could lead Torres to reconsider his options.
It also added that although Ferran feels comfortable at Barcelona, doubts, limited appearances as a starter, and the financial budget allocated for the signing of Julian Alvarez could leave him out of the plans.
It pointed out that what entices Torres to move to Paris Saint-Germain, the European champion for the last two years, is his coach Luis Enrique, who was behind giving the Barcelona forward the opportunity to represent the Spanish national team for the first time in 2020.
It confirmed that Barcelona's priority is to keep Ferran Torres, but under specific conditions, which are to renew his contract without a financial increase in his salary and to commit to his defined role in the lineup.
Sources revealed to "Sport" that Paris Saint-Germain has not started official negotiations with Barcelona regarding Torres; rather, they are waiting for the player to express his desire before negotiating his signing.
