Zalzouli returns to Betis training.
The Spanish newspaper "AS" confirmed that Moroccan international Abdessamad Ezzalzouli is preparing to return to group training with Real Betis, yesterday Monday, after being absent for more than a month due to a knee injury, which prevented him from participating with the Moroccan national team in the 2026 World Cup.
The newspaper explained that Ezzalzouli underwent a special treatment program in France under the supervision of a specialist, before returning to Seville, where he is expected to join the group in preparation for continuing the team's preparations for the new season, which will see them play two friendly matches against Recreativo and Granada.
"AS" pointed out that the coaching staff of Real Betis, led by Chilean Manuel Pellegrini, has high hopes for the Moroccan winger to regain his full fitness, given his importance within the team's sports project, especially with the club participating in the Champions League next season.
The same source added that Ezzalzouli had a remarkable season with Betis, which made him the focus of interest from several Premier League clubs, foremost among them Newcastle United, which has been monitoring the player for months, considering him one of the most capable wingers to make a difference in European football.
Despite this interest, the newspaper clarified that the management of Real Betis is handling the player's situation calmly, as they are currently focused on his full recovery and participation in the preparation period, without ruling out the possibility of his departure if the club receives an offer that matches the buyout clause in his contract, set at 60 million euros.
