The appeal file submitted by the Senegalese Football Federation to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding the Africa Cup of Nations final is still stagnant, in the absence of a final decision from the international sports body.

According to the Spanish website “IUSPORT,” which specializes in “sports law,” the ruling that was expected to be issued during this July may be postponed until October at the earliest, which means that the state of anticipation continues between the two parties.

The same source indicated that the hearing session regarding the dispute over determining the champion of “CAN 2025” is expected to be held at least in September, before the case enters the deliberation phase, which may take about a month before the final decision is issued.

The Senegalese federation resorted to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to challenge the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), which awarded the Africa Cup title to the Moroccan national team, following the events that occurred in the final match between the two teams last January, considering the “Lions of Teranga” as withdrawn.

So far, neither the Court of Arbitration for Sport nor the Confederation of African Football has issued any official statement specifying the date of the session or the date of the final ruling, leaving the case open while awaiting a decisive decision.
