Roma enters the race for Zakaria Wahidi.
The Italian football club AS Roma has joined the list of clubs interested in signing Moroccan international Zakaria Wahdi, the right-back of Belgian club Genk, during the summer transfer window, as part of its efforts to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
The website "Africa Foot" revealed that the management of "Giallorossi" is closely monitoring the development of the Moroccan player's performance, who has managed to establish himself as one of the key players for Genk thanks to the impressive levels he has shown since joining the team.
Roma's task will not be easy, as they face competition from several European clubs, most notably Everton and Crystal Palace from the English Premier League, along with Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, which has made Wahdi one of its priorities in anticipation of making an official offer in the summer transfer market.
On the other hand, Genk is keen to retain its player and does not intend to let him go unless for a suitable financial offer, having set a price of no less than 15 million euros for agreeing to sell him, which reflects his increasing status within the team and rising stock in the transfer market.
According to the same source, the interested clubs have intensified their communications in recent days to inquire about the player's situation, in preparation for taking official steps, amid expectations of an increase in his market value and the entry of other clubs into the competition if a decision is delayed.
