Fawzi Lekjaa outlines a new roadmap.

The executive office of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, chaired by Fouzi Lekjaa, continued its meeting today, Friday, which started yesterday, Thursday, to further discuss the points listed in the agenda. A significant part of the meeting was dedicated to evaluating the work of the two national leagues for professional and amateur football, along with the approval of a set of orientations and decisions related to the development of the national football system.

The executive office of the federation approved a proposal put forward by the National League of Professional Football to postpone matches for clubs that have more than three players called up to the national first team, in a move aimed at maintaining the principle of equal opportunities among teams during the professional league competitions.

During the meeting, the president of the National League of Professional Football, Abdel Salam Belkchour, presented a report showcasing the results of the digital transformation that the league underwent between 2022 and 2026, highlighting the modernization of competition management mechanisms and services provided to clubs, along with indicators related to the transfer market, training centers, the development of the youth player base, and the handling of insurance and dispute files.

Belkchour explained that the efforts made contributed to reducing the number of disputes, speeding up their resolution, and enhancing the respect for contractual obligations, thereby reinforcing financial and administrative stability within professional clubs, noting that the total budget for the national professional league reached 965 million dirhams.

The league president also reviewed data and statistics regarding the number of eligible players, the number of foreign players in the professional league, player transfers between clubs, and players moving from amateur clubs to professional status, in addition to the number of participants in youth and junior championships.

Following the presentation, Fouzi Lekjaa confirmed that the upcoming phase will see the continuation of the implementation of the reform project for national football, according to a new roadmap that emphasizes the full independence of the national leagues within their competencies, while enhancing coordination between them and the federation, and completing their transition to their own headquarters before the end of the current year.

The federation president also stressed the need to continue investing in sports infrastructure, developing sports marketing, improving the conditions for welcoming fans, organizing their access to stadiums, and raising the quality of match organization, which enhances the professionalism of national competitions.
