The World Cup final brings together Sánchez and Trump.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will be present on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey to support his national team in the 2026 World Cup final, despite his criticisms of U.S. President Donald Trump's policies, who will be sitting next to him, according to his office's announcement on Friday to AFP.
His office stated that "the Prime Minister will attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup final scheduled for Sunday in the United States. After that, he will head to Algeria," where he has a previously scheduled official visit.
Trump's attendance at the final, which will feature Spain against Argentina, was confirmed on Thursday by White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt.
