Al-Rahmouni calls for holding accountable those who spread false news after the exclusion of the "Atlas Lions."
The media figure and sports analyst Adel Rahmouni confirmed that the Moroccan public's inclination towards the "conspiracy theory" following the elimination against France is primarily due to the emotional and psychological shock resulting from the strong attachment to the national team. He explained that the fans raised their aspirations after facing major global football schools and adapting to them, which made accepting the sudden defeat a difficult matter.
The speaker, who was a guest on the "Hespress Debate" program, held "yellow journalism" and Facebook pages largely responsible for spreading these rumors, pointing out the existence of fake accounts backed by external entities that stoke the flames of discord, alongside Moroccan "influencers" and pages seeking to achieve "buzz" and AdSense revenues at the expense of national sentiments, likening this exploitative decline to what occurs in the content of "daily routines."
The same sports analyst emphasized the necessity of legal accountability and the activation of penalties against those promoting false news and forged documents, foremost among them the lie of the "Aix-Les-Bains" agreement that was maliciously promoted to mislead. In this context, he called on serious sports media and institutions, particularly the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, to intervene urgently and issue official statements to enlighten public opinion and categorically refute these allegations; he also warned of the dangers of distorting statements, denouncing the actions of some who twisted a technical question posed to the national coach about tactical discussions in the dressing room to exploit it and interpret it as evidence of internal conflicts.
In his defense of the national team, Rahmouni refuted rumors that claimed there were altercations between the technical staff and the players, praising the professionalism of the federation, which quickly held a press conference after 48 hours to clarify the situation and guide the sports community.
