Chilavert confirmed, in a statement to "Hesport," that Bounou continues to deliver impressive performances with great consistency, which, in his view, makes him deserving of the title of the best goalkeeper in the world at this time, given what he is achieving with his club and the Moroccan national team.

The former captain of the Paraguayan national team explained that he hopes Bounou continues to shine in the national colors during the current edition of the 2026 World Cup, as he possesses exceptional abilities.

Chilavert expressed his support for the Moroccan national team ahead of the anticipated match against France in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, hoping that the "Atlas Lions" succeed in securing a spot in the semi-finals.

The former Paraguayan goalkeeper stated: "Honestly, I hope the Moroccan national team wins. They have outstanding players and possess all the capabilities to overcome France."
