Al-Awamleh: The brilliance of Moroccan football is the result of a strategic vision and a dream turned into reality.
The media figure Noufal Al-Awamleh confirmed that Moroccan sports achievements are not a coincidence, but rather an extension of a history filled with surprises that have amazed the world. He recalled in this context the glories of national sports, starting with Olympic champion Nawal El Moutawakel, up to the legends of tennis, noting that the epic of the World Cup in Qatar broke the imaginary barriers for developing countries, thanks to a purely national product established on the Mohammed VI Academy and shining under the leadership of national coach Walid Regragui, who changed the mentality from mere participation to ambition for victory.
Al-Awamleh, who was a guest on the "Hespress Debate" program, attributed this football awakening to the cumulative strategic work that began with the national sports symposium in Skhirat and the royal messages that established a strong infrastructure.
The Hespress guest considered that the fruits of this work could have been reaped in the 2018 World Cup in Russia were it not for refereeing errors and the VAR technology, while praising the administrative stability of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and its avoidance of impulsive decisions, which contrasts completely with the chaotic management seen in some neighboring countries that destroy what they build in a few hours.
In discussing the targeted media campaigns against Morocco, the speaker described what comes from the eastern neighbor as "a systematic machine that adopts an editorial line aimed at belittling every Moroccan achievement." He explained that the military regime there exploits football and the Palestinian cause as two hooks to stir domestic emotions and manage its crises, citing the absurd use of a video clip of an innocent child and turning him into a national hero by presidential decree to cover up political and sports failures.
To counter this propaganda, Al-Awamleh strongly criticized the reliance on social media influencers who have millions of followers without possessing cultural or historical depth. He emphasized the necessity of investing in national media talents and historians capable of debunking lies and documenting sports history, affirming that protecting achievements is no less important than achieving them and requires a genuine and convincing media discourse.
