The Spanish national team decisively won the "Iberian derby," defeating their Portuguese counterparts 1-0 in the match held this evening, Monday, as part of the Round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup taking place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Mikel Merino, a forward for Arsenal FC, scored the only goal of the match in the 91st minute of the World Cup knockout game.
With this victory, the Spanish national team, champions of "Euro 2024," advanced to the quarter-finals, where they will face the winner of the match between Belgium and the United States, scheduled for early Tuesday; according to Coordinated Universal Time.
