The player's glow, Onahi, ignites speculation.
An Italian newspaper report revealed that Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi is a strong candidate to leave Spanish club Girona during the current summer transfer window, amid increasing interest in his services following his impressive performances with the Moroccan national team in the 2026 World Cup.
According to the Italian newspaper "Tuttosport," Ounahi's future will be decided in consultation with Italian coach Enzo Maresca, the new head coach of Manchester City, considering that Girona belongs to the "City Football Group," which oversees the management of both clubs.
The same source clarified that Maresca will decide whether to include the Moroccan midfielder in Manchester City's squad or agree to his departure, either on loan or through a permanent transfer to one of the clubs interested in signing him.
The report indicated that several clubs are monitoring Ounahi's situation, including Italian clubs Fiorentina and Genoa, as well as Brighton, Real Sociedad, Real Betis, Celta Vigo, and Atletico Madrid.
The newspaper added that Ounahi, who is contracted with Girona until the summer of 2030, earns a net annual salary of approximately 1.1 million euros, and his contract includes a release clause of 25 million euros, which was not affected by the team's relegation to the Spanish second division.
Tuttosport concluded its report by confirming that Girona may agree to sell the Moroccan international for an offer slightly exceeding 20 million euros, a sum that could open the door for his transfer to a new destination during the summer transfer window.
