Haaland leads the Norway national team to the World Cup quarter-finals at the expense of Brazil.
Norway pulled off a major surprise by knocking out Brazil, the five-time champion, from the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.
This achievement came after the "Vikings" won 2-1 on Sunday evening in New Jersey, USA, thanks to two late goals from striker Erling Haaland.
Brazil missed a penalty through Bruno Guimarães in the first quarter of an hour, before Haaland struck hard by scoring two goals in the 79th and 90th minutes.
The Manchester City star raised his tally to seven goals in the "2026 World Cup," tying with Frenchman Kylian Mbappé and Argentine Lionel Messi at the top of the rankings, and qualifying the Norwegian team to face the winner of the match between England and Mexico, scheduled later in Mexico City.
This is the first time Brazil, who had Neymar score their only goal from a penalty in stoppage time, has failed to reach the quarter-finals since the 1990 edition held in Italy.
