Ibrahim Diaz promises to be the best against France.

The Moroccan international Ibrahim Abdelkader Diaz expressed his great happiness at the national team's reaching the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, confirming that qualifying for this stage is a dream come true, emphasizing that the focus of the "Atlas Lions" is entirely on the upcoming match against France.

Diaz said in statements to FIFA's official website following the 3-0 victory over Canada in the Round of 16: "It is a dream to experience this edition of the World Cup, to reach the quarter-finals, and to help the team with what I provide. The most important thing for us is that we have qualified for the quarter-finals."

Regarding the difficult match against Canada, Diaz explained that the Moroccan team faced significant challenges before asserting its superiority in the match, saying: "The mental aspect was very important, as the first half was not easy at all. In the end, this reflects the team's character and mentality. Our ability to overcome difficult situations gives us the confidence that we are ready to face any opponent."

Ibrahim provided two assists in the victory over Canada, creating goals for Azzedine Ounahi and Sofiane Rahimi, continuing his impressive performance in the tournament, raising his tally to four assists in five matches.

The player who provided the two assists for the second and third goals in Morocco's win over Canada commented on his teammates' celebration of him after Sofiane Rahimi's goal, saying: "My teammates love me a lot and appreciate me a lot. After the third goal, they treated me like a star, and that made me very happy."

Despite his eye-catching performance in the 2026 World Cup, Ibrahim Diaz refused to dwell on what the Moroccan team might achieve in the remainder of the tournament, recalling the historic achievement of the "Atlas Lions" in the Qatar 2022 edition, saying: "The truth is that a great job was done in the World Cup in Qatar, and even the players who are no longer part of the current group are part of this story."

He added: "We are very happy to be in the quarter-finals, and we will give our best in what remains of the competition.
