Players of the "Black" team: The joy of Moroccans is a reward.
Moroccan national team players confirmed that the strength of the group and the ability to correct mistakes between the halves of the match were the keys to their victory over the Canadian team with a clean score of three goals, securing a spot in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup. They emphasized that making Moroccan fans happy represents the greatest motivation for them to continue their journey.
Nail Al-Ainawi stated in remarks to the "Sports" channel that the Canadian team presented a strong first half and created many difficulties for the Moroccan team, admitting that the "Atlas Lions" did not enter the match as required, before they succeeded in the second half in analyzing what happened during the first round and finding solutions that enabled them to score three goals.
Al-Ainawi added that the spirit of the group remains the biggest strength within the Moroccan national team, confirming that it is not a product of this World Cup, but rather the result of years of work. He also thanked King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan fans for their continuous support, pointing out that representing Morocco is the greatest motivation for all players.
For his part, Ridouane Halhal explained that the team knew from the beginning that facing Canada would not be easy, as the national coach emphasized throughout the week that there are no easy teams or matches in the World Cup.
Halhal added that the opponent was organized during the first half, which forced the players to maintain their cohesion, before they succeeded in capitalizing on the adjustments made between the halves to achieve victory.
As for Azeddine Ounahi, who scored two goals for the Moroccan team in the match, he confirmed that the "Atlas Lions" once again showed that they are a complete group, explaining that the team faced some difficulties in the first half, before finding solutions after the instructions received by the players between the halves, successfully concluding the match with a clean score of three goals.
