Renard announces the end of his mission with Tunisia.
Frenchman Hervé Renard announced on Saturday the end of his short mission with the Tunisian national football team after the team was eliminated from the group stage of the World Cup in North America.
Renard (57 years old) said on Instagram, “My adventure ends here,” thanking the Tunisian Football Federation for giving him the opportunity to lead the national team in the World Cup, considering that representing Tunisia was “an honor,” and that the experience will remain etched in his memory.
He expressed confidence in the Tunisian national team's ability to continue developing, achieving successes, and bringing joy to its fans, wishing good luck to all team members in the upcoming phase.
The attempt to change the coach in the middle of the tournament failed to save Tunisia's journey in the World Cup, as the seasoned Frenchman Renard was unable to achieve what Sabri Lamouchi could not, after the 3-1 loss to the Netherlands sealed Tunisia's dismal exit without securing any wins.
