Al-Rahmouni calls for investing in the football achievement to promote Morocco's image.
Adel Rahmouni, a sports analyst and media figure, confirmed that the continuous successes achieved by Morocco in the World Cup are not a fleeting accomplishment or a result of chance, but rather a natural extension of the path that began in the Qatar World Cup. This reflects the scale of the strategic investment made by the kingdom in sports infrastructure and human resource development.
Rahmouni, who was a guest on the "Hespress Debate" program, explained that what the Moroccan national team is presenting today is the fruit of a long-term vision, embodied in the Mohammed VI Football Academy experience, which has produced a new generation of young players capable of ensuring the continuity of Moroccan brilliance leading up to the World Cup 2030.
He pointed out that previous encounters between Morocco and Senegal prompted FIFA to tighten organizational and refereeing measures during World Cup matches, clarifying that broadcast footage showed strict adherence from Senegalese players to the instructions, with significant vigilance from the fourth official and the video assistant referee team. He considered that this strictness in applying the rules represents a model that the African Football Confederation needs to curb violations and unsportsmanlike behavior.
In the context of discussing the Moroccan experience, the sports analyst emphasized that some foreign media, especially Arab outlets, attempt to reduce the success of the Moroccan national team to the fact that many of its players come from the diaspora. He argued that this perspective overlooks the close connection these players have with Morocco, whether through their identity or their relationships with their families and homeland, in addition to the presence of several graduates from the Mohammed VI Academy who have demonstrated high technical levels within the national team.
He also praised the Moroccan investment in developing the refereeing system, noting that Moroccan referees have delivered outstanding performances in managing major matches in global competitions, showing great ability to apply FIFA's laws with confidence and professionalism.
