An English clash intensifies over Al-Ainawi.
Moroccan international Nail Al-Ainawi continues to attract the attention of major clubs in the English Premier League, having established himself as one of the standout players for the Moroccan national team during the 2026 World Cup, alongside his impressive performance with AS Roma in his first season.
According to English and Italian media reports, both Manchester United and Liverpool have entered the race to sign the "Atlas Lions" midfielder, after his performances in the "World Cup" impressed officials from both clubs, particularly due to his tactical discipline, physical strength, and ability to win back possession.
Interest has not been limited to the two English giants; clubs such as Aston Villa, Brighton, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Sunderland, and Bournemouth have also joined the list of those interested in his services, given the outstanding levels the player has been showcasing both domestically and internationally.
Al-Ainawi transferred to Roma in the summer of 2025 from French club Lens for €23.5 million, plus bonuses, and during his first season, he participated in 34 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing two assists, despite missing some time due to injury and participating in the Africa Cup of Nations.
For his part, Roma's coach Gian Piero Gasperini confirmed that the Moroccan player has great potential, but he is still in the process of developing to fully adapt to the team's philosophy, which may lead the Italian club's management to be open to considering any substantial financial offer during the summer transfer window.
