The African Football Confederation (CAF) announced the schedule for the matches of the African Champions League and the Confederation Cup for the new season 2026-2027.
CAF indicated in a statement on its official website today, Thursday, that the new season will begin with the first leg matches of the preliminary round from September 4 to 6, 2026, followed by the return matches from September 11 to 13, 2026.
The statement clarified that the second preliminary round will take place from October 16 to 18, 2026, while the return matches will be held from October 23 to 25, 2026. It noted that after the preliminary rounds, the group stage of both tournaments will start in late November.
CAF specified the dates for the six rounds in the group stage, with the first round taking place from November 27 to 29, the second round from December 4 to 6, and the third round from December 18 to 20 of the same month.
The fourth round will be held from January 8 to 10, 2027, while the fifth and sixth rounds will take place from January 15 to 17 and January 22 to 24 of the same month, respectively.
In the knockout stages, the first leg matches of the quarter-finals are scheduled for February 26 to 28, while the return leg will take place from March 5 to 7. The first leg matches of the semi-finals will be held from April 9 to 11, while the return matches will take place from April 16 to 18 of the same month.
CAF concluded its statement by indicating that the final matches of both tournaments are tentatively scheduled for May 9 and May 31, 2027.
