The governor of the Mexican state of Nuevo León, Samuel Alejandro García Sepúlveda, received today, Monday, in Monterrey, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, in the presence of the Moroccan ambassador to the United Mexican States, Abdelfattah Lebbar, on the sidelines of the match that will bring together the national team and its Dutch counterpart in the Round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup.
During this meeting, the governor expressed the pride of the authorities and residents of Nuevo León in hosting the national team and Moroccan fans, confirming that the city of Monterrey has mobilized various resources and means to ensure a reception worthy of Moroccan supporters and to provide the best conditions to accompany this global sporting event.
He explained that the state has designated the new "water park," located about 500 meters from the Monterrey stadium, as a space for receiving and gathering Moroccan fans, noting that a celebratory march will start from this location at five o'clock in the afternoon local time towards the stadium that will host this match.
For his part, the Moroccan ambassador to the United Mexican States praised the warm welcome and the significant efforts made by local authorities to secure and ensure the success of this sporting event, guaranteeing Moroccan fans ideal and safe conditions to support the national team.
It is worth noting that the match between the national team and the Dutch team will kick off at seven o'clock in the evening local time (two o'clock in the morning on Tuesday Moroccan time).
