The cyclist Ait Al-Abdia wins the Bahrawi.
The cyclist Anas Ait Al-Abdiya, from the Marrakech Champions Cycling Association, was crowned the champion of Morocco in road cycling today, Sunday, in Sidi Allal Al-Bahrawi, after winning the road race in the closed circuit for the senior category (elite).
Ait Al-Abdiya finished ahead of Ashraf Al-Daghmi (Marrakech Club); while Ahmed Al-Shahid (Casablanca Sports Union) came in third place.
In a statement to the press following his victory, cyclist Anas Ait Al-Abdiya expressed his happiness at winning the title of this edition in front of experienced cyclists, confirming that the competition was fierce among the participants who demonstrated a high technical level.
The Moroccan champion added that this championship represents an important opportunity for cyclists from various clubs to develop their technical skills and interact with the best practitioners in this sport, noting that all conditions were favorable for the success of this event, which saw wide participation across different categories.
In a statement to the Moroccan News Agency, Mohamed Belmahi, president of the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation, explained that the Moroccan Road Cycling Championship, which is held annually under the supervision of the International Cycling Union, saw the participation of more than 450 cyclists representing various clubs affiliated with the federation this year.
Belmahi added that the Sidi Allal Al-Bahrawi community has all the qualifications that enabled the organization of this sports event under the best conditions.
The president of the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation pointed out that the Moroccan Road Cycling Championship was an opportunity to showcase promising talents among cyclists, who demonstrated a high technical level. He emphasized that this type of competition allows them to develop their competitive abilities, enabling them to excel in this sport that requires significant effort.
In the women's category, Malika Benallal, from the Wazzani Sports Union, won the Moroccan Championship title yesterday, Saturday, ahead of Ikram Benjellouj and Fatima Zahra Al-Hayyan, who are members of the Agadir Cycling Club.
This sports event, organized under the supervision of the International Cycling Union, saw the participation of 450 cyclists representing 78 associations affiliated with the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation, competing in 11 categories (minors, youth, under 23, seniors, elite, and masters).
The Moroccan Road Cycling Championship was held from June 26 to 28 in Sidi Allal Al-Bahrawi, and included time trials and road races in a closed circuit.
