National coach Jamal Salami confirmed that the Jordanian national team's first participation in the 2026 World Cup was an important milestone in the players' journey, despite exiting the tournament from the group stage after three defeats.

Salami explained that the last match against the Argentine national football team served as a practical lesson for his players, as they faced a real test against one of the world's top teams, noting that this experience will help them understand the demands of competing at the highest levels.

The Argentine national team secured the match held at the Dallas stadium in the third round of the group stage with a score of (3-1), in a game where Jordan managed to score a goal against the world champions.

Salami said during the press conference following the match: "The players experienced a real challenge as we emphasized before the tournament began. We knew that facing teams like Argentina requires great readiness on both physical and technical levels, and today they have a clearer understanding of the requirements of playing at this level."

The coach of the "Nashama" added that the current group has promising potential, pointing out that some mistakes made by the players during the tournament were costly, but at the same time represent an opportunity for learning and development.

He continued: "The players are smart, and they will have other experiences in the future. The team has a mix of experienced and young players, which gives us confidence in the possibility of continued development."
