Gakpo continues his journey with the "Oranje."

Cody Gakpo, the star of the Dutch national football team, will remain with the team despite the loss of his child, who was still a fetus.

Gakpo and his partner Noa van der Bijg announced the news yesterday, Saturday, as the couple was expecting the arrival of their second child, with the birth scheduled for next October.

Van der Bijg said on Instagram: "With hearts filled with pain, we share the heartbreaking news that our baby boy passed away during pregnancy."

In a post of his own, Gakpo said: "This is an extremely difficult time for our family. We ask everyone to respect our privacy and give us the space we need. Thank you for your understanding."

The Dutch Football Association mentioned that after speaking with his partner, Gakpo decided to stay with the national team, as the team is still participating in the World Cup competitions.
